Introduction to Track Circuits for Signal Maintainer, Release One

 

APTA is pleased to announce the roll-out and availability of its first online training course, Introduction to Track Circuits for Signal Maintainer, Release One. This course was specifically developed for the rail industry. This new online course is targeted for new signal maintainers as well as to serve as a refresher for an experienced signal maintainer as well.

 

This online course includes a brief history of track signals, the fundamentals of a track circuit, and basic troubleshooting skills for a signal maintainer. This professionally developed online course is highly interactive. It includes numerous graphical illustrations, photos, online simulations, quizzes, and troubleshooting scenarios.

 

This online course is also designed to serve as a reference tool. Each staff member who is enrolled in the course can go through the complete course or selected modules as often as needed.  You can take the course in one sitting or in small blocks of time. You can print off chapters, illustrations, course scripts, and other valuable information. We estimate that someone could spend anywhere from one-to-two hours or more to complete the course, depending on their needs.
